Privacy Policy
Your privacy is critically important to us. At ApexStream, we have a few fundamental principles:
- We don’t ask you for personal information unless we truly need it.
- We don’t share your personal information with anyone except to comply with the law, develop our products, or protect our rights.
- We don’t store personal information on our servers unless required for the on-going operation of one of our services.
1. Information We Collect
We only collect information about you if we have a reason to do so – for example, to provide our Services, to communicate with you, or to make our Services better.
Technical Data and IP Addresses
To deliver live video, investigate abuse, prevent fraud, secure accounts, and troubleshoot service issues, ApexStream collects Technical Data including IP address, user agent, browser and device information, approximate location, login events, stream ingest metadata, ingest region, media-node identifiers, destination connection events, and timestamps.
Raw IP connection logs, session events, and stream telemetry are retained for 12 months, then anonymized into non-identifiable operational or aggregate data unless a longer period is required for a valid legal hold, preservation request, abuse investigation, dispute, or legal obligation. Billing and tax records may be retained for up to 7 years, but are kept separate from routine raw streaming telemetry wherever possible.
Marketing Consent
By creating an account, you agree to receive marketing communications from us. You can opt-out at any time by clicking the "Unsubscribe" link in any email or updating your notification preferences in your dashboard.
AI Usage & Data Processing
Our platform utilizes Artificial Intelligence (AI) to optimize stream quality, analyze content for automated tagging, and generate smart highlights.
How we use your content:
- To provide automated captioning and translation.
- To detect content policy violations (safety).
- To improve our video compression algorithms.
Google User Data & YouTube API Services
ApexStream uses YouTube API Services to allow you to broadcast live content from our platform to your YouTube channel. By using these features, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. ApexStream's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements, and is subject to the Google Privacy Policy.
What data we collect: We collect and store your YouTube channel title, channel ID, profile picture, and OAuth 2.0 authorization tokens (access token and refresh token) to enable the multistreaming functionality.
How we use it: We only use this data to facilitate live streaming on your behalf and to display your channel information within your private dashboard. We do not share your Google user data with third parties, do not use it to serve advertising, and do not allow humans to read it except where strictly necessary to operate the service, comply with applicable law, or address user-reported issues.
Token storage & retention: OAuth tokens are stored encrypted at rest (AES-256-GCM) and used only for the live broadcasting feature consented to by the active user. Tokens are retained only for as long as is necessary to operate that feature: when you disconnect a YouTube account inside ApexStream we revoke the OAuth grant against Google's oauth2.revoke endpoint and delete the stored tokens immediately. If your account is deleted, stored tokens are revoked and deleted automatically. Otherwise, tokens persist until explicitly removed by the user.
Revoking access: You can revoke ApexStream's access to your data at any time from within the dashboard (Integrations → Disconnect), or via the Google Security Settings page.
Last Updated: May 2026. Your privacy is not a "feature"—it's our baseline.
2. Security
We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data in transit and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
3. Legal Requests and Preservation
We may preserve or disclose account, billing, stream, and Technical Data when required by valid legal process or when necessary to protect ApexStream, our users, or the public. When a valid preservation request applies to a specific account or stream, ApexStream may suspend routine anonymization for the scoped records until the legal hold is released.
4. Changes to This Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
